Hern Financial Coaching
Rates

We have researched (both locally and nationally) hourly rates for these types of professional services. We determined most websites are mysterious about their rates. We have been in your shoes, understand the issues you are concerned about, so we decided to be direct, open and transparent with you about the value of our services and our rates.

There is an initial 30-minute FREE consultation to review your situation and to describe our services to see if Financial Coaching makes sense for you and is an appropriate service for us to provide to you. Due to the positive response, our professional Financial Coaching rates are discounted for New Clients Only through August 31, 2010 at $40 or $80 per hour (rate based on annual income). There is a five-hour minimum over the first two months (less than five hours will not be sufficient to get to know you, review your goals, behaviors and financial situation).  Payments are due at the end of each appointment.  For work performed on a client's behalf outside of the one-on-one appointment setting (and agreed to prior to the work being done by client), we will invoice the client.

Business consulting rates are determined by individual engagement but are significantly less than other consulting businesses.  For clients who receive financial coaching services from a distance (most services via telephone, fax and email) we also offer a credit/debit card payment option through PayPal (if mutually agreed upon by both of us).

We encourage you to review our About Us, Philosophy and Services sections and see the value we provide. We are engaging with you about your life, your family, your business, your goals and your dreams.

Some approximate (in some cases minimal) annual comparisons for you to consider and to realize the value of our services:

$3,700 Personal Trainer at the gym 2 days a week
$2,000 Smoking a pack of cigarettes a day
$1,500 Dinner for two twice a month
$1,400 Eating out for lunch 4 days a week
$1,200 Getting a perm once a month
$1,000 90-minute back massage once a month
$ 700 Cup of coffee at a drive-thru 5 days a week
$ 400 Bank overdraft fees ONCE per month

Average hourly rates for Accountants and Attorneys are well over $125 an hour. Financial Advisors and Financial Planners many times charge wrap fees of 1.5% of assets under management (i.e., $100,000 = $1,500 annual fee) and you speak with them only a handful of times a year. Brokers ding you for commissions of $40 or more for trading just a handful of shares. Depending on the products, insurance companies and banks charge you significant early termination charges, bank, overdraft and late fees. The cost to have a plumber come check a leaky pipe or furnace can be over $100 for just a few minutes work (or to simply show up).

As you can see from the above, our rates are very reasonable when considering our professional experience, what we are coaching, advising and discussing with you and how it impacts your life. Our services generally pay for themselves in a very short period of time based on the changes you make to your financial life and clients feel happier and more in control of the direction of their lives.
